UKIUA Summer conference 2010

Outlines or abstracts for presentations on Ingres, OpenROAD, open source, or any other Ingres-related topics are invited.  The theme for this year's event is "Open Source Innovation" so any papers relating to Ingres and Open Source tools and products would be particularly welcome.

The UK IUA Committee invites anyone working with Ingres or OpenROAD, or related technologies to submit ideas for papers to be presented at this year's annual conference.  The conference will take place on 8th June 2010 at the Holiday Inn, Coram Street, London WC1N 1HT. 

Speakers get free conference registration.

A sell-out crowd attended the high quality presentations at last year's event, and with your assistance and contribution, we aim to make this year's IUA Conference an even bigger success.

Outlines and abstracts can be submitted in any reasonable format (e.g. Word, plain text, Powerpoint, PDF, etc.).   Please submit your ideas for papers via email to Ray Collins (ray.collins@iua.org.uk) by Tuesday 29th April 2010 for evaluation by the conference paper selection committee.

Note that you need only send an outline or proposal at this stage.  You do not need to provide a complete presentation to be considered.

Notification of whether your paper has been selected or rejected will be sent by Friday 30 April 2010.

June 2009 IUA Conference - another successful event!

Once again we hosted a successful one-day Conference at the Hilton Hotel, Edgeware Road, London. We will shortly be posting a questionnaire on this site for those who attended. this is to guage where and how we can further improve future events. 2007 IUA Conference - Wednesday 6th June 2007 London

The UK Ingres Users Association and Ingres Corporation recently hosted a one-day user group conference at Holborn Bars, 138 - 142 Holborn, London, EC1N 2NQ.

Once again, with generous support from Ingres, this event was free to attend, and featured our very successful mix of strategic and technical sessions.

Senior speakers from Ingres, including President and COO Roger Burkhardt, and Emma McGrattan, updated us on what they’ve been up to for the last year and what’s planned for the next. The conference attendees found it useful and informative,.

Ingres Corp buys Ingres Product Set

The UK Ingres User Association (IUA) welcomes the formation of Ingres® Corporation, and looks forward to a close working relationship. The IUA believes that this move is very good news for existing Ingres users, as it will undoubtedly increase the effort being spent on marketing, promoting and supporting the Ingres product set, which can only be a good thing for all users.

While users will need to make their own judgements on the commercial impact of these changes on their own organisations, we hope and expect that Ingres Corporation's goal of substantially increasing user numbers can best be achieved by having a licensing model that both new and existing users are happy with.

We have had a number of initial discussions with the management team from Ingres Corporation, and are greatly encouraged by their passion and enthusiasm for re-invigorating this world-class technology. We look forward to continuing to work with them to represent the interests of users, and to facilitate excellent communications between these groups.
